St. Louis PTC is one of 8 regional centers and 2 national centers, funded by the CDC to serve and assist clinicians with the skills, knowledge and experience needed to address and prevent sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) in their patients.
St. Louis PTC coverage area states are: Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas, Iowa, Wisconsin and Illinois.
Advanced STD Intensive
This course is designed for clinicians who regularly see patients with STDs in their practice. What’s new in STD care and the latest information on new diagnostics tests currently on the market and in development will be discussed. Screening test recommendations for MSM, PrEP, EPT, case discussions, and recent changes to the CDC STD Treatment Recommendations will be addressed.
Bicillin & Lidocaine: Guide & Video
Access the St. Louis PTC’s guide on Bicillin injections utilizing Lidocaine, as well as a video guide to the process.
eLearning Community
Course Description: One-hour interactive webinars to address, establish and grow innovative solutions and services in STI/HIV preventive strategies. The eLearning Community (eLC) series are held each month virtually via Zoom.
(Target Audience) Physicians, PAs, NPs, nurses, and other health professionals who see patients with or at risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
HIV Prevention in Care – New Development in Research and Practice
This course will review recent research findings in HIV prevention that emphasize the importance of antiretroviral treatment as a key element of community-level HIV prevention. Exciting new developments in biomedical prevention approaches will be considered, including pre-exposure prophylaxis. This course will be of interest to clinicians, program staff, and others who treat and interact with patients with or at risk for HIV/STD.
Mini STD Update Course
This course will review recent research findings in STD diagnostics, care and prevention that emphasize the importance of screening for STDS at a community-level for prevention. STD Clinical Consultation Network
The Clinical Consultation Service is intended for licensed healthcare professionals and STD program staff. We do not provide direct medical care, treatment planning, or medical treatment services to individuals.
STI Intensive
This course, an intensive overview of STIs, includes 14 hours of lecture over two days. Topics presented include: gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, trichomoniasis, PID, genital herpes, HPV, hepatitis B, chancroid, urethritis/cervicitis syndromes, pediculosis/ scabies, HIV/AIDS, prevention strategies / PrEP / EPT, and case studies.
