Mini STD Update Course

Course Description

This course will review recent research findings in STD diagnostics, care and prevention that emphasize the importance of screening for STDS at a community-level for prevention.  Exciting new developments  in biomedical prevention approaches will be considered, including  pre-exposure prophylaxis.  This course will be of interest to clinicians, program staff, and others who treat and interact with patients with or at risk for HIV/STI. New Developments in STD Treatment will be discussed. 

Course Objectives

At the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  1. Discuss changing epidemiological trends in syphilis, gonorrhea, and chlamydia
  2. Describe new developments in STD testing, treatment, and prevention
  3. Identify current trends in STD antimicrobial resistance
