Advanced STD Intensive

Course Description

This course is designed for clinicians who regularly see patients with STDs in their practice.  What’s new in STD care and the latest information on new diagnostics tests currently on the market and in development will be discussed.  Screening test recommendations for MSM, PrEP, EPT, case discussions, and recent changes to the CDC STD Treatment Recommendations will be addressed.

Course Objectives:

At the end of this program, students will be able to:

1. Discuss the impact on practice of the new STD Treatment Guidelines.
2. List some of the new lab tests available for STDs.
3. Recognize sign and symptoms of primary syphilis. 
4. Discuss current local epidemologic trends and partner notification options.
